Activites

Whether it’s a birthday celebration, special occasion or corporate event you’re organising, Rhandregynwen Hall can tailor make an exciting activity package to suit you.

Groups of friends, colleagues or couples can spend the day trying their hand at clay pigeon shooting, or venture into the surrounding countryside for some of the best novice rock climbing routes in the area.

Those who love to be on the water can take part in raft building on our very own private stretch of the River Vyrnwy, or explore the river’s meanders from a canoe.

We can arrange for groups of ten or more to take an exciting trip in a canoe, and or we can organize canoe hire for smaller groups.

We can even arrange to pick you up at the end of the session, so you can culminate your journey with a hearty meal or refreshing drinks at a riverside pub.

Another great way to discover the idyllic Welsh landscape is from a mountain bike, and we can arrange bicycle hire and route advice or even guided trips for those who want to ride cross-country through some of the most spectacular woodland routes around.

We also offer dirt buggy racing, an exhilarating experience for adrenaline junkies who want to test their driving skills to the max whilst having fun with friends.

At Rhandregynwen Hall we will cater for your every need and can accommodate couples, families and small or large groups for an action packed day of thrills and spills. We can also provide gift vouchers, so you can treat your loved ones to something completely different.

Activity days provide a unique, unforgettable experience to mark a milestone celebration, team build with your colleagues or simply have fun and try something new in the countryside.

Visitors are spoilt for choice when it comes to things to do in the area. Here’s just a sample to whet your appetite:

Archery – Come and try your hand at archery with experienced instructors.

Canoeing - There are various places you can launch onto the Vyrnwy and we have skilled trainers to help beginners. About a mile downstream the Vyrnwy joins the River Severn. Alternatively, Bala and Llangollen are only a short distance away with varied canoeing and kayaking opportunities.

Dirt Buggy Racing – At a suitable distance from the house, we have our own buggy race track with powerful but quiet engines. We offer a full range of racing in the same way as a go-kart track only more powerful and on the dirt.

Cycling – What better way to explore and soak up the beautiful Welsh borderland countryside than on the seat of a bike. And don’t forget to stop at one of the friendly local pubs en route to refuel.

Fishing - We own 1,000 metres of land adjoining the scenic River Vyrnwy, which offers good fishing opportunities to visitors. We don’t own the fishing rights but can arrange day permits for those wishing to test their angling skills.

Golf – There is a choice of local courses, including Llanymynech where Ian Woosnam played prior to world fame.

Motor Racing – The venue for the famous Loton Park Hill Climb is only about 10 minutes away.

Shooting - Various local pheasant and partridge shoots operate in the local area and we can also arrange clay pigeon shooting at a specialist centre nearby.

Sightseeing – No visit to the old county of Montgomeryshire is complete without stopping off in Welshpool for a tour of Powis Castle and its glorious gardens. Whilst in the town, the Welshpool and Llanfair Light Railway is also well worth a visit.

Walking - Visitors are spoilt for choice. Offa’s Dyke is a short distance away, as is Long Mountain and Rodney's Pillar, which offers panoramic views across the Shropshire Plain and Mid Wales borderlands and there are lots of leafy country lanes to explore.
